John Abrams holds an MFA from York University and is an Associate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto. He carries out an active practice as a painter, sculptor and filmmaker.

A founding and current member of Loop Gallery in Toronto, he shows there on a regular basis. Abrams is also an active member of A Space Gallery and has served two terms on its Board of Directors.

Abrams works with the University of Toronto Art Centre to produce documentary videos of artist and curator talks, panels and visiting professors lectures that address the University of Toronto’s fourteen thousand artworks.

Represented by Boltax Gallery, New York, Abrams’s work may be found in many national and international collections including the National Gallery of Canada and the Canada Council Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Windsor, the McMaster Museum of Art, the McDonald Stewart Art Centre, the Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery, the University of Toronto Art Centre and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, and the O’Hare Airport in Chicago.
